Settings Overview
Clone Seeker
Overview
The following include a general description of what each setting in Clone Seeker covers.
Clear DB Before Index
The Clear DB Before Index
option sets whether the application to delete all entries in the database before a new index takes place. If you wish to keep incremental updates this setting might not be desirable.
Show Duplicates at Startup
The Show Duplicates at Startup
setting determines if the application should load the known duplicates list at startup. If the number of your duplicates is high this setting might not be desirable if it slows the application loading process. Duplicates can always be shown from the Show Duplicates
function on the Overview
tab.
Show Duplicates after Index
The Show Duplicates at Startup
setting determines if the application should load the known duplicates list after a success index.
Theme
The application supports both a light and a dark theme which can be turned on by toggling the Dark
setting.
Bytes Threshold
The bytes threshold setting is the number of a bytes that a file has to be under in order to be indexed. The default for this threshold is set at 500MB. Creating the hash fingerprint used to identify duplicates is memory intensive for larger files.
Index Locations
The index locations are the folders that you want to index to look for duplicates in. By default the application indexes all of the files in a folder including it's sub folders. Certain folders can be omitted if this is coupled with the excluded keywords setting.
Excluded Keywords
Any file whose name contains one of the excluded keywords will be be omitted from the index. This match goes against both the file name and the folder path to that file.
Double Clicking in Main Grid Shells File
This setting determines if double clicking a file in the main grid will open the file with the operating systems default program for that file type.
